1) Choose a domain name - Use our whois.net research tool at http://www.ezdomainname.com and find a name that will best describe your website. This name (what we call a domain name) is how people will find you when they go onto the world wide web. Once you have found the right name for your website and you are sure it is available to purchase (actually lease is a better term since you pay for the rights to the name ever year) then you need to go to your favorite domain name register (we recommend http://www.ezdomainname.com) and secure the name so others cannot use it. When using EZ Domain Name your domain name will automatically connect with your hosting at DWHS. For more details on what domain registration is go here http://www.dwhs.net/domain-registration.htm
2) Find a company to host your website - It is one thing to register your domain name but it is equally important to attach that name to a web server with your favorite web hosting company (we recommend DWHS) so you have a place to put up your website. You can view different starter level web hosting plans here: http://www.dwhs.net/web-hosting-plans.htm
3) Build your website - There are 3 ways you could build your website.
A) Buy a program like Microsoft Frontpage, Cool Page, Adobe GoLive or Macromedia Dreamweaver and learn how to use the program and build your own website.
B) Download the free web page builder http://www.nvu.com , our free file manager, or the free CMS's like WordPress or Drupal. You would need to learn how to use these programs to customize your website. These options are typically easier then full paid web building programs like Dreamweaver or Golive.
C) Pay someone else to do it for you. We have a web studio for this here: http://www.pagealive.com
4) Upload / Publish the website so it can be seen on the internet.
That's everything to get started. Your website can be seen all over the world so make sure it's looks good.
