Adding a new domain name as a add-on domain to your account

A add-on domain is just like a top level domain except the add-on(s) shares the resource of your top level.

To create a new add-on domain please follow the method below:

1. Go to where your domain is registered and have the nameservers updated to the exact same nameservers your main domain uses.

2. Log into your domains web based control panel (http://dwhs.com/login)

3. Click the option called add-on or add-on domain

4. Fill in the domain without the www. in front of it, for example "dwhs.com"

5 Choose a username, this will also be the folder you put the new domains files into so choose something that is not the name of a folder that already exists. It is common to use the domain without the www. or .com as the add-on username. For example "dwhs"

6. Choose a password, this should be written down and have letters and numbers without any dictonary words. With this password the add-on can accessed through ftp.

7. Your add-on is now created, if you changed the nameservers several days before you did the add-on then it should be instantly available on the world wide web. If not then you may have to wait for the domain to resolve (about 24-48 hours is normal for this). If the add-on is not active 48 hours after the domain's nameservers where changed then delete the add-on and re-create it again the same way.

You may get a error when you try to re-add it that says "dns zone already exists" in this case you will need to contact us to delete the dns zone so you can add the add-on domain again.

Note: The add-on can be viewed through the main domain like so: http://your-main-domain.com/the-addons-username
